3rd National Choral Composition Competition

Applications for the 3rd National Choral Composition Competition continue in September. The works should be written for a capella choir and should last between 6-8 minutes. 

First Prize - 15.000 TL
Second Prize - 12.500 TL
Third Prize - 10.000 TL
Honorable Mention - 3.000 TL

Award-winning pieces will be performed by the Turkish State Choir along with the winners of the first and the second editions of the National Choral Composition Competition.

5th Walter Strauss​ Choral Conducting Masterclass

The 5th Walter Strauss Masterclass for Choral Conductors will take place between 26 January - 1 February 2020. 

​Every year, the masterclass brings together young choral conductors from Turkey and Europe and is led by a internationally renowned conductor. The guest conductor for the year 2019 will be Josep Vila i Casanas.

The final concert will be given on 1 February 2020 Saturday at 5 pm in CSO Concert Hall.

This River: World Premiere

Turkish State Choir has commissioned the poem 'This River' by Rumi to the Norwegian composer Henning Sommerro. The world premiere of the piece will be done on 27 January 2019 Sunday under the direction of Ragnar Rasmussen.
