Giovanni Bonato's World Premiere

Every season, State Choir Turkey commissions a new a capella piece on a Turkish poem to a renowned European composer. This year's new work has been composed by the Italian composer Giovanno Bonato on texts by the 13th century poet Yunus Emre. The name of the work is winding words of wisdom.

The premiere of the work has been done in the 35th International Ankara Music Festival with the participation of the Italian Ambassador to Turkey. The new piece for spatizalied 8-voices drew much attention from the festival audience by its innovative approach.

4th Walter Strauss​ Choral Conducting Masterclass

The 4th Walter Strauss Masterclass for Choral Conductors will take place between 27 January - 2 February 2019.

​Every year, the masterclass brings together young choral conductors from Turkey and Europe and is led by a internationally renowned conductor. The guest conductor for the year 2019 will be Ragnar Rasmussen from Norway. The application for the masterclass will be open by September 2018.
